" The journey of Metanoia is one of the most valuable journeys a person can experience. Unfortunately, many of us arrive at it only after deep pain or loss. Can you introduce yourself in a few words?
I’m Sedu. I’m currently the brand manager and content creator for the Armenian clothing and accessories brand NL.
Although my academic background is not directly related to this field, fashion and visual storytelling have always interested me, and that naturally led me here, harmoniously aligning with my rhythm of life and everything else I do.
I have always loved fiction literature, and I regularly write myself, mostly in the form of contemporary poetry. In recent years, I’ve also become interested in psychological and esoteric literature.
I would also mention dance as a form of self-expression and a way of staying connected to my own energy.
What moments in your daily life make you feel the most present?
In general, those are the moments when I take care of my body and mind. Over time, I realized that discipline is not a limitation, but something that helps create more balance and inner strength. An important part of that has become my morning workouts on free days, which end with Kaoshikii yogic dance and meditation. Movement helps me feel energized and alive, while meditation helps slow down the flow of thoughts and restore inner balance. The combination of physical and mental practices helps me the most in staying present and truly feeling the moment.
How do you balance practicality and creativity in your everyday routine?
I’ve noticed that fields where creativity is limited or completely absent are difficult for me. In those moments, the creative part of me feels neglected, and I end up investing more energy than I receive. That’s why I try to be in spaces where creativity dominates as much as possible. That’s when I feel more productive, whole, and truly in my place.
How do you see fashion as a form of self-expression, beyond just clothing and accessories?
I have never perceived fashion in a simplistic way, and for me it has never been just about wearing something; otherwise, I wouldn’t be interested in working in this field. It is a separate language of self-expression through which I see a person’s mindset and character. It helps me understand someone just as much as their preferences in cinema, literature, and music.
Do you often experiment and change your style and what is the reason for that?
I have never been against experimentation. I think it becomes especially active during phases when you are still searching for yourself, trying to understand which style speaks more fully about who you are, or sometimes even speaks instead of you. Now those experiments come from a deeper inner confidence because I know myself better. I simply find new ways to express what already exists within me.
Do you remember your very first bag and is there a story related to it that you would like to share with us?
My red school backpack with Mickey Mouse prints. At that time, it was a true dream for a first grader and even gave me motivation to go to school.
I still remember the sound of the zippers on the pockets, which I loved opening and closing over and over again because each one had a small Mickey Mouse keychain attached to it.
How do the things you carry in your bag reflect your personality and lifestyle?
A sense of cleanliness and freshness is important to me, so my bag mostly contains small self-care essentials. I always carry water, headphones, and a small notebook to write down random thoughts. I love returning to them after some time and revisiting them.
If you had to create a “life essentials” list, what would be on it—beyond material things?
The list is somewhat reflective: not becoming disconnected from real emotions and not getting lost in constant rushing.
The feeling of inner peace and safety as a foundation on which everything else can be built.
Realizing the strength within yourself and using it for good.
And finally, staying connected to subtle energies and love, which give life its true depth.
What does the concept of “metanoia” (a transformative journey) mean to you in your life?
The journey of metanoia is one of the most valuable journeys a person can experience. Unfortunately, many of us arrive at it only after deep pain or loss. In the end, however, it brings a person closer to themselves, because metanoia is not simply change, but a complete transformation of mindset, values, and inner world.
Once someone truly goes through that first profound transformation, an ongoing process of growth, self-discovery, and reinterpretation begins.
What role does sustainability play in your choices, and how does that connect with owning a 57 metanoia bag?
I’m one of those people who never chase trends. I prefer acquiring pieces that are not subject to the logic of fast consumption and do not lose their value over time. The 57 Metanoia bag exists within exactly that way of thinking — through its quality, design, and concept.
Which 57 metanoia bag do you own, and why did you choose it?
My 57 Metanoia bag is the grey denim version from ''Continuity"collection — minimalist and comfortable. It integrated very naturally into my wardrobe and pairs perfectly with my everyday looks. It is one of the brand’s very first pieces, which makes its story even more special to me.
I remember that period very well, when Anush and Mariam (the founders of 57 Metanoia) were creating each new bag with great enthusiasm.
It’s wonderful to witness that the same passion for creating still remains years later.
If your bag could tell a story about you, what would it say?
It would probably complain that I fit several times more things into it than its actual capacity allows.
What’s a piece of advice or a thought that has stayed with you over the years and still influences how you live today?
Listen to your inner feelings — that’s where our life truly is.
